Classic Rock History: An Interview With Cosmos Modisaemang Of Skinflint

'If you’re a fan of heavy metal band Skinflint, you’ve surely learned to expect the unexpected.

As natives of Botswana, Skinflint delivers the goods through an eclectic mix of hedonism, perched along elements drawing from all areas of the genre. To be sure, Skinflint is eclectic, that much we know. But beyond the sonic journeys the band embarks upon, a very real camaraderie appears to exist amongst the members.'  Read the full interview here: https://www.classicrockhistory.com/an-interview-with-cosmos-modisaemang-of-skinflint/

Invisible Oranges: Skinflint Represent African Heavy Metal On New Album “Hate Spell” (Interview)

'Heavy metal in Africa has been attracting the attention of local and international media fairly steadily over the past decade, and Skinflint from Botswana are one of the main bands who are leading the charge. The trio from Gaborone in southern Africa has been creating its brand of Afrocentric metal since 2006. Featuring guitarist/vocalist Giuseppe Sbrana, bassist Kebonye Nkoloso, and drummer Cosmos Modisaemang, the band creates intriguing, groove-based riffs and rhythms with lyrics about African mythology and folklore.' INTERVIEW: Kosmos MODISAEMANG (SKINFLINT) - A vampire from Ghana and the bloody quill of porcupines...

'Skinflint are messengers of heavy metal from the black continent, even from its southernmost part, from Botswana. In the underground of the capital Gaborone, the band pays for one of the biggest stars who managed to release a record and has contacts on the American scene. We talked about how the African metal scene is developing, about the present and the future of Skinflint with drummer Kosmos Modisaemang, who is officially the youngest member of the band (since 2019), but otherwise an experienced musician who also has experience from other of the Amok association of Botswana. An interview with him can be taken as a probe into another, as yet unexplored world of metal music, from which unsuspected potential can grow.' Skinflint Hate Spell Review at Metal Forever

'What is so interesting about her can be seen on the new album "Hate Spell". Skinflint claims that they play pure heavy metal, but this is misleading in their case, especially when you think of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Diamond Head or Saxon under this term. Skinflint are different, just like Sepultura once were, they are influenced by the culture of the country they come from.'
